Apologies for the long radio silence. Here's our news.
Though Charl's shoulders and neck are still a little stiff and painful, his hard head is fine.
We have shelved our travel plans as I am rejoining the FMF as Head of Operations as of March 1.
I was initially approached at a tea I hosted for my former colleagues in December, then made a more formal offer in January, the day before Charl's fall. At the time we were talking a September start date, but Charl's accident, and growing tensions in the Middle East, our next destination, conspired to change that.
We have bought a 2012 Hyundai i20, and moved our goodies out of our storage unit (where they have been languishing since January 2019) and into a rented garden cottage in Greenside.
We will not be undertaking a trip through South Africa, therefore, and are really sad not to be seeing the many of you we had hoped to visit.
We plan if at all possible to do a short cycle trip somewhere exotic at year-end (thinking Guatemala) and will be in touch again then...
