Today, Charl bullied me into cycling 78km between Ciego de Avila and Sancti Spiritus. OK, OK... he said doing so was up to me... How was I supposed to respond to that?
We had planned to cycle 44km and flag down a ride. Transport, however, proved scarce, and in the end we had little choice but to get here under our own steam.
Our accommodation is up a long flight of stairs. Charl carried his bike up; our host, Tomas, who had had to come and find us on the street because for the second night in a row, Google Maps led us mildly astray, carried mine despite his arrhythmic heart.
