A wonderful day! Yesterday, lost in the medina (old walled city) for several hours, sniping at each other and exhausted, we forgot entirely what exactly it is we love about travel. This morning we remembered.
A blue-sky day where getting lost was anticipated and enjoyed. Where a glass of sweet coffee in a room filled with men, smoking and playing cards beneath singing canaries caged along the walls, was satisfying in more ways than one (no cannabis allowed) . For lovers of the classic movie, Casablanca, the film-set inspired Rick's Café, is worth the price of a beer and margarita. And to end the day, a delicious meal of mussels, beetroot, lentils, carrots and sardine meatballs. Ah, yes...
