We had a slightly challenging but pretty ride between Khorab Safari Lodge and Tsumeb, with more inclines than we have had in awhile.
I have a real dilemma about whether to study the Ride With GPS elevations before beginning a route or not. On one hand, if the climbing seems tough, I worry about the ride during the night before instead of sleeping. On the other, if I see there is a climb of say 2km, I am mentally prepared for it, thinking that I can walk it if needs be. Last night I worried needlessly, but was also glad to know that one steep section was brief and that much of the final 10km into Tsumeb was downhill.
On the outskirts of town, the B1 widened into a double-carriage road and on the very edge of town we saw the Dros restaurant and were happy to stop there for a calamari lunch before finding our way, via a garage shop, to our backpacker accommodation.
